Hi;

Aside what Tharalla said i post for you an zip file with screenshots about this beta:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?z2jkmn2mmgr

2 notes:

- Review all possible weaponbases's light some of them seems weird in luminance.
- The bots im expert mode for example, have a stupid behaviour when attacking o defending redbase, check the bothpathing in red side. The blue is Ok.

The bothpathing in lower walkways for both team seems not to be used usually, check this part too.

Anyway great advances with your map dude.

i finally got to my computer, so here is my review! part1 :

screenshot1:
this texture seems kinda out of place, maybe you could replace it by something else, a bit more dark

screenshot2:
this is in the redeemer room; the floor near the entrance looks kinda sloppy, maybe you could add a nice edge there, or make the rock merge with it, smoothly

screenshot3:
i believe i took this screenshot next to the center patch, as you can see, the rock has some kind of a gap in it, which causes you to get stuck there

screenshot4:
as you can see on this screenshot, the sides of the rocks have weird stretched texture, maybe you could fix that

screenshot 5:
here you see [where the translocator is] a gap where you also get stuck, i suggest you raise it a bit so you can just walk over it

screenshot6:
this is something which bothered me from the beginneing: you cant translocate between the bars [plenty of space there to do it] nor stand on it...
it would be much better if you changed the collision there

screenshot7:
i think it would look better if you would either stretch the bridge a bit further, so it merges with the rocks, or that you would raise the rocks a bit so the ending of the bridge dissapears

screenshot8:
again, a weird shaped rock where you get stuck...

screenshot9:
this bridge looks kinda weird, i suggeest you lowered the rock, cause this looks really weird

part2:

screenshot10:
some weird textures

screenshot11:
something i remembered from all the lavagiants, was that you were able of walking those cables, it would be awesome if you could bring that back!

screenshot12:
this emptyness looks rather weird... filling it with a certain substance would be much better, i think something like a glowing green or yellow substance would be the best, cause now you fall into nothingness

Also: some things i really missed in this map were two other things:
-the ability to get up on the center rocks, this just needs to be added in the next versions, as it just is awesome for gameplay purphoses
-the side pickups, like they have been there for... ever... here are some screenshots from a lavagiant [to show what i mean]:

[beneath right path, looking from red base]

[beneath the left path, looking from blue base]

btw: i agree about the alarm light in the lower passage, it kinda annoying...
and about the colored crystals, try making them bright red/orange, i think that would look pretty nice [its a special room with special colors]

Default Beta 4

Beta 4 is out!!!

Changes in Beta 4
-Removed the alarm light in the lower floor
-Tone down the fog
-Change the color of the crystals in the cave to an orange and yellow color
-A bunch of terrain changes and other minor changes

And please stop talking me about realism, I'm sure gameplay is more important

Hey DarkStranger that beta 4 version is a lot better the walkways is very smooth this time xd and plays better now...About gameplay for me is ok. I like the new position in this version remake from lavagiant about the udamage and big health items placements is fine and you can get it both using trasnloc. Maybe SteveLois can help you he is very good in this area.

Looking forward to the final release dude! XD

Ok, I tried the new version.

First, I didn't pay attention to it before but I did now. I get very low fps while playing this map, even as low as 15fps sometimes. I don't know why, could be the fog though but I'm not sure. But it's definitely something you're gonna have to fix.

Secondly, I like the changes you did to the cave, looks much better now!

Also, I've mentioned it before. There's a lot of problems with the rocks throughout the map, these rock meshes have a wierd collision and they need proper blocking volumes in all places where you can walk on them, I know this is terribly boring to fix, but it's pretty important. Also, as I mentioned before, when you get close to the rocks, they look really bad and their texture is horribly overscaled. You should probably change the material of all rocks to something better looking.

About the fog, the amount of fog above the ground is good however, when you get down below it's not so good, and I think the density of the fog here should atleast be cut in half.

The terrain here doesn't reach out to the walls.

You probably want to assign a green colored material to this mesh so it matches the tree.

very minor thing, but this effect thingy isn't properly aligned to the mesh below.

The area around this light mesh should be much brighter, right now it looks like you have forgot to put light actors out here.

Remove these lightbeams, they look wierd as they pass through the fence material.

This may just be me but I really don't like these light meshes (the one I'm aiming at with the translocator). I also think that all the red lights / blue lights in the bases are too colored if you know what I mean. And since you already have a giant team symbol above the base (which I love), there's really no need to have this many team colored lights. I would personally try with some yellow/orange/white lights.

If you look in the old map, every light in that base was the color of that team

That may be, but the original map also had lava instead of water. And since you're not making a pure remake I see no reason to change the appearence as long as the layout stays the same.
