Steam Users who don't want to download the v2.0 Patch and Titan Pack via steam

For those of you who don't want to download the patch and pack via steam, you will be fine. If you made a new install via steam then your method might vary slightly from mine (because I used junctioning), but I assure you, the downloadable patch and Titan Pack are compatible with the steam version.

1) Open Steam, click the My Games tab, right click on Unreal Tournament 3, click Properties, then click the Updates Tab. In the drop-down menu choose the "Do not automatically update this game" option.
2) Download the v2.0 Patch and Titan Pack
3) Close Steam for good measure
4) Install the 2.0 Patch
5) Install the Titan Pack
6) Re-enable auto-updates but DO NOT check cache integrity or it will downgrade to version 1.3 (At least, until version 2.0 is released on Steam)
7) Play like you've never played before.

Note: If you run into the same glitch I did where you couldn't start a match (Where it says "Press fire to start match" and pressing fire does nothing) then shut down the game, delete your .inis from /my documents/.../unreal tournament 3/utgame/config/ and restart the game. It worked for me. Thanks to Jetfire for the tip.

...and I must say... the UI update is VERY nice.

That's what I was wondering but didn't want to be the "guinea pig" myself.
I don't know when it will get around to Steam so I'm downloading the retail standalone versions now.

No problem! I figured it would be too much trouble to code an entirely different patch for the steam version so I couldn't help but try it

umm. as far as i know, it's not even possible yet to get it on steam, so the only way to isntall the patch and the pack is to use the mirrors.

Guys, I might've spoken too soon. Maybe this problem is unique to me, but while the v2.0 and titan pack install perfectly fine, I am having problems with the game itself. The menus work great. All of the new options, game modes, maps, and titan mutator show up...

...however... When I attempt to play I can click fire all day long and nothing happens. It just stays there, and it's not frozen. For example, this map (The new CTF-Face) shows the spinning helmet.

I checked and my fire button is definitely bound. I don't know what the deal is. The round just never starts

First thing to try is the old-but-true 'shut down the game, delete the .ini's from /my documents/.../unreal tournament 3/utgame/config/ and reboot ut3...?

I use steam and installed the patch and the titan pack the manual way and it works fine for me. I've played a couple rounds with bots and everything's great so far.
