Name: DM-Zahltag_City_RTS

Author: Buster(Gatherstone)-Original idea.
Remake for UT3 by AlphaSt3XC~RTS~,Lishtenbird.
eMail Address: serg_west@yahoo.com

Version:1.0 Release

Compatibility:2.1 patch

Description:

Zahltag... This city stands at the crossroad of the worlds. There are no people here anymore, only robots.But .. we are here.....

Comments:

It was a nice sniper map in UT99. Right now in UT3, too..
I hope, I've kept the nice old atmosphere in the gameplay of this great map. I've added new music and new sounds to the map.
It's a map for the new engine and with modern textures, but still old-style. There are no teleports, only elevators.

I hope you like it

Holy Mackerel, downloading now! I used to look for servers playing this map as it is one of my favorite old maps. (DM-ZeitKind2K4Pro.ut2) Thanks for bringing it to UT3. I know I'm going to have a blast. Have you seen the version with jet packs and rideable deemers?

It from the author of this map.

Hello Serg,
I checked out the work you did and it looks great. You did a fine job with the map. Of all the people in the world, I know how much work it can be. Well done.

===== ===== ===== ===== =====

Here's a brief history of Zahltag:

The original layout of the buildings (etc) was first done by J. Vierheilig on November 21, 1999 for the original version of Unreal.

In 2001 the project was taken up by Buster aka Sneaki_B (me). The initial layout remained the same, but the map was redesigned and completely remade from scratch, and it's gameplay greatly enhance. Buster's 5th and final version of the map, DmZahltagOps, was released on January 25, 2009 also for the original version of Unreal. It features a working helicopter and 6 pairs of teleporters, plus lots more.

Over the years it's also been modified by some great mappers, including Jet, dik<KoR> and [IP]J.

Back in April 14, 2007 Buster's 4th version of Zahltag was ported to UT2004 by Bruce F. aka Sinji(DoG). It was officially released at the UT200X site (FileFront), where it was reviewed and given a rating of 9.7 out of 10 by TR-Relic.

Buster's 4th version of Zahltag has also been featured in 16 various gaming newsletters, including those for Half Life 2, America's Army, Doom 3, and Gears Of War. To date, it's been enjoyed by 635,000+ registered UT2004 players.

===== ===== ===== ===== =====

I hope you don't mind the extra tidbits of information about the map. Except for maybe Deck 16, Zahltag is probably the most played custom map, over the entire history of the Unreal engine. You are now a part of this rich legacy.

Take care and have fun,

Buster a.k.a. Sneaki_B

Someone emailed me just two weeks ago for my UT2004 versions of Zahltag and Zeitkind.

So cool to see it around again, I will surely give this a try.

A very nice job, Alpha. I've missed playing this great map. It's one of my alltime favorites. If this is your first mapping try, then I hope you will stay at it. I'll look forward to more maps in the future.
